A week after starting my new job, which I LOVE LOVE LOVE by the way, I got in a wreck on my way to work. Continue reading “Personal: FML … My new car was totaled and I have a concussion”
The video weekly updates have not started back yet, so instead, we have this again… Continue reading “Weekly Roundup for May 28, 2018: ‘Jane the Virgin’ and health issues, oh my!”
Yeah, I don’t like lemonade – the drink or the Beyonce album. I just couldn’t think of another way to start this blog post because it’s really just going to be a lot of blabbing. Continue reading “Thoughts: When life gives you lemons … forget it, I don’t like lemonade”
Edit: I wrote this last night and fell asleep before I could even publish it.
I know, I went MIA again. Continue reading “Personal: Fatigue, snow and oh my God, I’m gonna be back again”
As I mentioned in the #AskTheFangirl post tonight, my life has been back to crazy hecticness the past few weeks.
Work: We are down two people at work right now and one had to go out of town for some family stuff this weekend, so things have been hella busy and crazy and I’m trying to work all the overtime I can, but I’m exhausted.
Why am I exhausted?
The night before Easter, I had to take my mother to the emergency room and she was admitted. Her kidneys were shutting down. The infection was back, too. So dialysis was started. She went into the Critical Care Unit for a few days and finally back to a room, but I don’t know when she’ll be home.
So between my mother and work and trying to take care of things at home and breathing and trying to sleep, I haven’t had much time for anything else. I mean, I was so busy, I forgot Thomas Rhett tickets went on sale, but thanks to Julia, we have that to look forward to in September.
I’m just scared my Mom won’t be home before I go to Vegas. I mean, the hospital or rehab place would be the best place for her, but who will take care of the cats? I can’t leave Piper and Phoebe for a few days with no food, clean water or a clean litterbox. One of my bosses at work said she’d come by to do that, but still, she’s a stranger to them and it scares me and I can’t afford putting them up for five days. Plus, Phoebe is so skittish around others that I don’t know if she’d last.
So to say I’ve been stressed and crazy is an understatement.
But there is some goodness happening.
I have Vegas in just a little over a month. Then New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul two days after my birthday in July. Then in September is Thomas Rhett, then a few days later, Harry Styles. Then after that Florida Georgia Line, Nelly and Chris Lane (although tickets haven’t gone on sale for that), so that’s a pretty good start.
Oh and I booked the cruise with Mara (for a third year!) and a BSB cruise virgin, Lacy. Hannah’s unable to book right now or possibly go and we can’t seem to talk Julia into it. Our room can hold four though, even though the cruise is sold out.
I just hope everything continues to start looking better with my Mom. She won’t let me cancel Vegas because she knows I’ve been looking forward to it since last Summer.
I need this Vegas trip. I just hope everything is okay when it’s time to leave. 🙁
I know, my resolution of blogging more has went out the window and it’s only February. To say the least, I’ve been really busy. Continue reading “Thoughts: Sometimes life moves pretty fast…”
I said I wouldn’t do it, but in a way, I miss having a real site. I couldn’t bring Boys on the Block back because I still do not have the time to devote to it like it needs. I’ve come to the point in my life that I have too much going on, but doesn’t mean I’m not fangirling. Continue reading “Welcome to ‘The Fangirling Life’”
I have 120 days until the Backstreet Boys cruise. Well, technical 121, but if you’re in Spain, it’s 120. I have 120 days until I need to feel better. And I’m working on it, but it feels like one thing happens after another. Continue reading “I have 120 days to feel better…”
I posted a photo on Instagram of my hometown boy Rhett Akins and his son Thomas Rhett from 1996 when Rhett did a hometown show at my future university. I had front row and backstage passes and the photo came from the newspaper that I would end up working for and interviewing Rhett for.
Rhett saw it and instagramed it, tagging me and tagging it as a photo of me. I was in the middle of texting Hannah when I saw “OfficialRhettAkins took a photo of you.”
My comment? HE DID WHAT?!
Rhett has obviously meant a lot to me my entire life for the most part. I remember hearing about him being a local singer long before he got a record deal. His father and my uncle used to be drinking buddies. And he has always remembered me from that very first time I met him in Albany with Linda Davis (Hillary from Lady Antebellum’s Mom).
