Dear Nick Carter, they can’t touch you… because we’ve got YOU

Me and Nick through the years

Me and Nick through the years

Dear Nick Carter,

You’ve had a rough week. Trust me, we have all been there. The only difference is yours is showcased in front of the world because of your career – because you love to sing and make music and that’s unfair.

As a journalist, that’s the one reason why I don’t want to be in entertainment journalism. I don’t want to be one of those hungry people taking every person’s downfall in order to get hits on a website or sell magazines. Not people I love and respect.

The people judging you have obviously never looked in their own closets. They must be absolutely perfect. The fans that act as if you’ve done something SO horrible are the ones that should look around their own backdoor.

You have never claimed to be perfect and have been so honest with your fans – with the world – about your demons and your life. Everybody has their moments of weakness. Everybody has those moments where they want to punch someone in the face. Trust me, there’s not a day that goes by that I want to smack someone upside the head.

You will get past this like you have gotten past everything else in your life. You have an awesome wife and probably the cutest baby to ever walk the planet on the way. You have a solo tour and a new Backstreet Boys album and a cruise that I can’t wait to spend time with you on.

None of these “reporters” (and I use that term loosely because if they did their research, 99% of them would not say former Backstreet Boy in their articles) know the real you. They’ve never seen you outside of an interview or a show. You helped save my life in so many ways that you already know about when even you were at your worst.

You’ll get past this and the real Nick Carter and Backstreet Boys fans will be right there behind you, cheering you on.

P.S. Don’t forget we want your All American show in Atlanta. 🙂 (Click the link)
